Delville Wood CWGC Cemetery, Longeville, Somme by Toby Webster
Delville Wood Military Cemetery, Longueval, October 2015

Situated opposite the entrance to the notorious wood from which it takes its name, this is a concentration cemetery mostly comprising the graves of those who were collected in from smaller cemeteries and the surrounding fields after the battles in July, August and September of 1916. There are 5,523 burials and commemorations of the First World War here, of which 3,593 are unidentified, and there are special memorials to 27 casualties known or believed to be buried amongst them.
